It’s All About QUALITY.
Our goal is to produce high quality labs meeting all applicable regulations and standards. We demand the highest quality both of ourselves and of our clients.
C&C Clinical Laboratory Consulting, LLC is comprised of partners Carol Vaughn and Cathy Bohrer. After several years of being approached by physician offices and other laboratories in trying to handle deficiencies or start lab services, we realized there was a growing need for qualified consultants in this field. In 2009, C&C Clinical Laboratory Consulting was officially formed.
Carol Vaughn, MT(ASCP)
Carol has a BS in Microbiology from Texas A&M and a BS in Medical Technology from The University of Texas at Tyler. She has been an ASCP certified Medical Technologist since 1995. She has experience in all areas of the core laboratory, with 3 years experience as Hematology supervisor in a 200+ bed hospital. She has participated in CAP inspections both as an inspector and as the lab being inspected. Consulting engagements have included a surgery center hospital in its starting-up phase, physician office laboratories recovering from severe inspection deficiencies, responding to deficiencies as mandated by CMS, providing mock inspections for hospitals, and serving as a COLA and CLIA required technical consultant to bring a lab back into compliance after failed inspections. Labs engaged have been accredited by The Joint Commission, CLIA, CAP, COLA, and AAAHC.
Cathy Bohrer, MT(ASCP)
Cathy has a BS in Medical Technology and has been ASCP certified since 1979. During her clinical laboratory career, she has worked in all areas of the core laboratory, including blood bank. During her career in the hospital, she has supervised blood bank, chemistry and the point of care department. She recently resigned from her 13 year position as the Administrative Laboratory Director of a 315 bed hospital that performed over 750,000 billable tests per year and employed over 60 people. She has participated in inspections by CAP, COLA, CLIA and TJC. Cathy’s focus for the last few years has been on setting up FSEDs and ensuring they are CLIA compliant. Other consulting engagements include responding to deficiencies as mandated by CMS, starting up new physician office labs and preparing labs for inspections both by performing mock surveys and having ongoing oversight.
